    About Summer Together

Summer Together provides San Francisco Unified School District students a selection of free in-person and virtual summer learning programs for nine weeks starting in June, including:

    • Academic, in-person learning
    • Summer camp at sites throughout the city
    • Virtual arts and academic classes
    • Free books for every student

Summer Together is brought to you by a coalition of TogetherSF, the City of San Francisco, San Francisco Unified School District, community organizations, nonprofits and businesses. The program is fully funded by a public-private partnership between the City of San Francisco and generous philanthropic support.

Read more about Summer Together in Mayor London Breed’s program announcement and in the SF Chronicle.

This partnership between the City, the School District, and TogetherSF shows what we can do when we all work together to do what’s best for our city and our young people.

This year the City’s summer offerings will focus on continuity of learning and will expand beyond our traditional offerings to combat learning loss, ensure credit recovery for high school students, and comprehensive support for families.

San Francisco Public Library is proud to be part of this effort to keep our youth engaged this summer. This year, more than ever, we know how important it is to keep students reading and learning all summer long. The Library’s annual Summer Stride program offers book giveaways, author visits, stem learning, and nature talks all summer long, plus workforce opportunities for teens.

Now more than ever, children need adventure, connection, and play. The San Francisco Recreation and Park Department is delighted to provide a fun and safe learning environment at this year’s camps so students may continue to forge friendships, get creative, and learn new skills.
